Henry N. Williford Jr. is a professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Auburn University Montgomery. He is Director of the Human Performance Laboratory and has conducted research related to physical activity and health for over 30 years. He has published approximately 100 research articles and has numerous presentations. He has presented research in the United States, Europe, Central, and South America. He chairs the American College of Sports Medicine Consumer information Committee. His research interests relate to how physical activity can improve health and increase life span. He is a devoted exerciser and has completed over 45 triathlons. In addition he works with a number of organizations including the Montgomery Fire Department the Alabama Obesity Task Force, and is a member of the Governor’s Commission on Physical Fitness.
